2024 Product Recap

My name is Haley Smith and I am excited to announce my transition from Onboarding Manager to Product Manager.  Many of you may know me as the person who helped get your integrations set up in Syncware.  From two years helping our customers get up and running, I have learned what would make Syncware a better platform and I am excited to bring that perspective to my new product role.

I have been writing Product Updates for our recent monthly releases (published every month on our blog). As we close out 2024, 4.5 million orders and $1.6 million in GMV will have flowed through Syncware this year. And we continued our product transformation focused on improving user experience and usability so it’s simpler, more intuitive, and easier to understand the myriad of features we offer. I’d like to highlight the highest-impact improvements and features released this year.

Product UX:

  • Streamlined the onboarding process into an Onboarding Checklist where you can tell us about your workflows, schedule a kick off meeting and get more tips and tricks on using Syncware.
  • Added new pages for Swaps and Filters (previously called “Bindings”) to help users manipulate and adjust data between their systems. We also improved customer content on these pages to describe what each of the Swaps and Filters actually do and how to use them. This has been completed for Faire, Shopify, and QuickBooks Online, and MarketTime with more to come in the following months.
  • Added the Sync Status page to replace the Endpoints page.  This page increases usability by displaying the integration action, run time, run frequency and the ability to manually run actions in an easy-to-navigate table. More detail can be found in this Help article: Sync Status
  • Added an account Timeline to the Home dashboard for better visibility as to what actions have been taken on their account, by who, and when.

Integration Management:

  • New Connect and Configuration pages for Faire, Shopify, QuickBooks Online and MarketTime.  The new Connect page displays only the fields required for connecting an integration while the revamped Configuration screen gives users hundreds of ways to customize an integration with clear descriptions for what each setting does.
  • Improved documentation for each of these core integrations to enable users toward self-service and troubleshoot issues without needing to contact Support.  42 new articles were published and 156 articles were revised to reflect product improvements.
  • Introduced new categories in Syncware Help: Help Center with generic articles for top functions within Syncware and Integration Guides that has integration specific content and quick start guides.
  • Relocated the QuickBooks Desktop Web Connector settings for customer configuration.  Settings that were previously only available to Syncware Admins are now within the Connect page for QuickBooks Desktop. We recommend reaching out to our support team before making any changes to existing integrations.  More details can be found in this Help article: Integrating QuickBooks Desktop.
  • Added an Inventory Allocation feature for all integrations that allows users to adjust inventory allocation to different connected systems.  More detail can be found in this Help article: How to Use Inventory Allocation

Account and Subscription Management:

  • Migrated billing, payment, and subscription management from a third party app to be fully automated and available within Syncware under Settings. More detail can be found in this Help article: Managing your billing information
  • Enabled accounts to have multiple users with different user roles and permissions.
  • Increased security with a more robust password policy, 30-minute session timeout, user lock out after 3 unsuccessful attempts, as well as account and address validation.

NEW in EDI:

  • Functionality to import 850 (Purchase Order) and 940 (Warehouse Shipping Order) documents simultaneously when the Import action runs for EDI connections.
  • New EDI Trading Partners added to our long list of retailer connections:
    • Burlington
    • Dick’s Sporting Goods
    • Grove Collaborative
    • Harris Teeter
    • Hobby Lobby
    • International Arrivals
    • KeHe Food Distributors
    • Living Naturally
    • Nebraska Furniture Mart
    • Sharper Image
    • Sobeys
    • Sun and Ski Sports
    • Thrive Market
    • West Elm
    • Whole Foods

In 2025, we will continue building on the progress we made in 2024 as we apply the same  usability improvements across more of our integrations.  We are also working to expand our product offerings with powerful new features and integrations designed for wholesale brands.
